3 Bullet Friday (2019-09-06)
This is my weekly 3 bullet check-in, a post about what I’m reading, thinking about and doing.
- I’ve finished reading the 26th book M.C. Beaton’s Hamish Macbeth series (i.e., Death of a Valentine). I’m sooo hooked, it’s embarrassing. I love Beaton’s unique characters and the moody, Highland setting. I think I’ll indulge in another one this weekend.
- The quote I’m pondering: I can’t remember the exact words, but the gist of it is:
“If everyone is running in one direction, consider choosing a different path.”
- I spent the last week in Vancouver with three of my grandkids. Laughter, stories, and hugs … It was pure heaven. Getting there and back was another matter. I live on an island off the west coast of mainland Canada. We kind of think of ourselves as living in our own world, but that’s beside the point. For one return trip, I managed to take 2 buses, 4 sky trains, 1 ferry, and 1 floatplane. When a raven blocked my path on the sidewalk this morning I should have known I was in for trouble. But the truly good news was that the weather was magnificent. Sunshine bathed the landscape and the mountains appeared above the calm Salish Sea. I feel grateful to live in paradise.
