How Many Glasses of Wine? - Jo-Ann Carson

How Many Glasses of Wine?

That’s the question.
How many glasses of wine will I down before I hear back from Kindle Scout? Waiting is painful, excruciatingly painful.
And yet, a part of me doesn’t want to hear, because if it’s a “No,” as in, no, they don’t want to have the rights to Midnight Magic, my hopes will be dashed. But that’s all part of the writing gig.
I’m not a souse. No where near it. Coming from a family flowing with alcoholics, I’m a lousy drinker. One glass of wine puts me to sleep in less than an hour. You could say I’m a cheap, but boring date:)
So I’ve been sipping wine to help me sleep. So how many glasses will it take?
At the end of my thirty days on Kindle Scout I had 9.8 K (i.e., nine thousand eight hundred!) views. That’s amazing exposure for me and I’m most grateful. But I sure would like an Amazon contract.
Send out positive vibes for me, my friends. Maybe the mighty algorithm at Amazon will feel it.
So that’s why I haven’t been writing much on my blog. I’m waiting and hoping, and waiting …
And drinking wine:)
I have another week to wait. Any suggestions for biding my time?

By the way. Thank you dear friends for voting for me. One way or another, the Magic will be published soon.

  1. Hang in there my friend! When I get stressed, I bake! (and pace and eat chocolate and practice deep breathing exercises) lol Wishing you all the best of luck. ♥

    1. Hi Barb,
Thanks for your support. I love to bake too, but I’m trying to cut back. Not the best of times to be doing that. lol. I’ll work on the breathing. Great advice. Thanks for your well wishes and your support.
      hugs,
      Jo-Ann

  2. Sending positive vibes, Jo-Ann. I hope you get a contract, but even if you don’t, know you are an extraordinary writer. Amazon is not the end all. Of course if you get a contract, it will be…lol.
    Best wishes. 🙂

    1. Hi Susan,
Thank you for your kind words. You are absolutely right. Not getting the contract is just a turn in the road, not a dead end.
Thanks for sharing your positive energy. You rock.
      xo

  3. I’d try extending the wine with some San Pelegrino and adding some salty, crunchy potato chips to the cheese. But I love cider too –
again with chips. That’s the main course. Chocolate is the dessert course…. And, I love your writing. Amazon just has to wake up.
